THE FIGHT TO FIGHT Spotlighted on The American Legion’s “Tango Alpha Lima” Podcast

Ellen Haring and Joy Bronson Take Center Stage on Nationally Distributed Podcast

Co-producer Ellen Haring (above left) and producer/director Joy Bronson were recently honored to be featured guests on The American Legion’s Tango Alpha Lima podcast to talk about the making of THE FIGHT TO FIGHT documentary. The acclaimed podcast reaches a large audience of military veterans and service members who share stories about transitioning to private life, valor, heroism, mental wellness, PTSD, accessing VA benefits, and more. Haring and Bronson discussed the film’s themes of fighting for fair and equal treatment for women from personal perspectives shaped by their military experience.

THE FIGHT TO FIGHT documentary breaks into the national spotlight as it accelerates toward completion in 2026.

In a major breakthrough for national exposure, Ellen Haring and I were interviewed by The American Legion’s Tango Alpha Lima podcast to talk about THE FIGHT TO FIGHT documentary. The American Legion’s acclaimed Tango Alpha Lima podcast has a large national online presence with more 357,000 audio downloads and 114,600 views on the Legion’s YouTube channel in the first half of 2025 alone.

Ellen and I were invited to discuss the film’s themes of fighting for fair and equal treatment for women in the U.S. military and to talk about the stories, challenges and resilience of service women, which we believe are topics that make the film essential viewing. With fewer than 1% Americans serving in the military, it is important to tell these stories so the general public can understand the full experience of military service.

The podcast was posted on December 9, 2025 and can be viewed here.

THE FIGHT TO FIGHT Film Crew Captures ‘Pickup’ Shots of Trailblazer Ellen Haring

Producer/director Joy Bronson (center) and director of photography/editor Mark Romanov (left) capture key ‘pickup’ shots of co-producer Ellen Haring, who is one of the featured women in THE FIGHT TO FIGHT documentary. The new footage, which was easy to shoot as everyone in the crew is locally based, will be added to the next rough cut of the film.

Next Steps in Post-Production

Ellen is not only a co-producer of THE FIGHT TO FIGHT, but she is also one of the trailblazers featured in the film. Ellen was able to join me for the podcast because she was in Santa Barbara for a ‘pickup’ shoot. Pickups are used to fill perceived gaps in the film, and the footage will be added to the next rough cut. This was an easy and low-cost shoot since our production team is based in Santa Barbara.

We took another important post-production step recently when the film’s music composer, Larry Groupé, formally joined our creative team and is beginning the process to write an original score for the documentary.

We also recently engaged a video artist to create a polished look for all text, graphics, and animations needed throughout the film. And finally, we have begun exploring post-production options for the critical tasks of sound design and color correction.

A Thankful Time of Year

As you may have read in previous blogs, we are incredibly thankful to the Pritzker Military Foundation for recently awarding our film a second major grant to support the post-production phase of the documentary.

This extraordinary grant includes a “challenge” grant, which doubles the impact of contributions by matching them dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000. To date, our generous community of supporters has enabled us to unlock a portion of the matching funds, however we still have a long way to go.

Currently, we are less than halfway to the challenge-grant goal, so we are still seeking support to help us get over the finish line. Your support is especially critical now, as most granting institutions we have applied to have either postponed giving grants or cancelled them outright.

As we approach the end of the calendar year, please think of us a part of your year-end giving. We are deeply grateful to the more than 125 donors, both large and small, who believe in our film. With your continued support, we will bring to the screen a powerful, full-length documentary honoring the remarkable servicewomen who integrated the U.S. military in a film that will be released in 2026.
